As a WOMMA member and Marketer working directly with consumer reviews/recommendations I feel that self-regulation is the best possible course for the future of this industry.

Without self-regulation, and the inherent self realization of the potential for abuse, any brand/advertiser/marketer participating in consumer-generated reviews walks a very thin line of ethical and unethical behavior and influence. By subscribing to the WOMMA Code of Ethics, these same groups can find comfort in their efforts being ethical, proper and eventually successful.
