One more good reason for companies to pay close attention to personal media and how their brands are discussed. More and more mainstream media companies like the NYTimes and the WashingtonPost.com are connecting articles with blogs who link back to them. And they encourage and facilitate del.icio.us tagging. So, an article about diminishing Katrina Aid will be linked from the Post page to bloggers who write about and link to that article.
For the diehard traditional PR folks: it's even more important to know what is being said about you out there as it may be linked to from the story.....

I'm telling you, links from the Post and occasionally from Newsweek or the MSNBC site are great traffic drivers for me. When I'm feeling less than thrilled by my numbers, all it takes is a comment on a Dana Millbank column and things get moving again.
Okay, I'm not that pathetic, but you get the idea.
