try www.technorati.com and type in "les blogs". Loic Le Meur held a small and visible conference on Paris earlier this year.
Also Wired wrote about rise of french bloggosphere.

Le Monde probably didn't get the memo (http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/WAspad/UnTexteDeJorf?numjo=CTNX0508288K) - weblog is "bloc notes" (and "bloc" for "blog") in French, now.

Here (http://www.loiclemeur.com/english/2005/05/want_to_say_web.html) is one of many English sources I found mentioning this.

Also, I've found that your blog doesn't accept HTML in comments. This is kind of odd, and makes it difficult for people to leave you links, format their text and so forth. Was this intentional on your part?

Well, as you can see, the links didn't work because I had to write them in some unfamiliar format. The first one should be http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/WAspad/UnTexteDeJorf?numjo=CTNX0508288K and the second http://www.loiclemeur.com/english/2005/05/want_to_say_web.html .

You should really consider enabling HTML for comments.
