I caught up with Anton Nossik in St. Petersburg at SPN Ogilvy's Baltic PR Weekend last week. I had met him 3 years ago as well as some colleagues from SUP who purchased LIveJournal from Six Apart in 2007 and has a spread of other online media properties.
Anton is a bit of a celebrity because of his involvement in several Internet companies and his own publishing discipline. I love that he continues to write and publish as I believe there is a lot to be said for longevity (and quality).
He speaks about his own social media habits from Instagram to Google+, the tension between publishers and bloggers, and whether Facebook stands a chance to overtake Vkontakte.
Very useful to understanding social media in Russia....
